Professor Nirmal Kumar is consultant ENT surgeon at WWL NHS Foundation Trust where he is also Director of Medical Education.

Regionally, he was Training Programme Director, HE NW for 8 years and now leads the NW CRN research network for ENT in addition to being Honorary Professor at Edge Hill University where he leads a MCh clinical academic programme in otolaryngology.

Nationally, he is now President elect for ENT UK having been Honorary Secretary and Assistant Secretary for 6 years previously. He is also FRCS examiner, Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators and Vice Chair & CESR lead on the Specialist Advisory Committee for otolaryngology.

In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis with family and friends though his aspirations in the sport far outweigh his competence.
